Way too big. I ordered my normal street/hiking shoe size. This is what I use in the UPLace rock shoe and in LaSpo approach shoes. The UP approach shoes are 1/2 to 1 size too large. Size down aggressively…

Agreed with other reviewer. These are sized way too big. I wear 10.5 street (10.5+ in txguide) and these are .5-1 size too big. I want to love this company but the sizes are all over the place and I cant find a store that stocks them to try on before purchasing. Please fix your sizing and you guys will be amazing!!! Ill be ordering a smaller size. Really want to find my forever approach shoe to replace the txguide. I get on average 3-4 months out of an approach shoe. Create a more durable txguide and I will buy 10 pairs immediately.

These shoes were very comfortable right out of the box. Rubber feels good when climbing and the shoe is stiff enough where you feel secure on smaller features. I wear a size 9.5 wide street shoe and it fits my feet well. I generally wear thicker socks when I’m hiking so I could see how others might want to downsize a half size, but the fit is good for me.

Overall, these shoes are quite good. I ordered them in a 10 (usually 10.5). They fit comfortably, though I would need to take extra care lacing them on longer downhill descents to avoid bashing my toes. They scramble quite competently, and are fine climbing into the 5.5-5.6 range without issue.
They lost one star because there is somewhat annoying bunched material in the toe, though I notice this much less after break-in. Also, for my fellow east coast friends: shipping costs ~30 bucks if you get two pairs. If you return 1, you’re looking at ~70 bucks just in shipping. worth it, because I like the company, but jesus. Please get an east coast distributor, UP.
