TN (Tomoa Narasaki) Pro

$175.85

The TN Pro is the fully tested signature model by Tomoa Narasaki. Complete with a slingshot heel design for sensitive heel hooking, the outside of the heel is wrapped in RH rubber for exceptionally stable heel hooks. The 4.2 mm RH rubber sole allows for a longer life than other soft rubber shoes. Though the rubber is soft and sticky, the stiff midsole, along with the slingshot heel design, produces an aggressive downturn that can still stand on small footholds. Inside, the shoe annihilates. With a more rounded toe than most bouldering shoes, the TN Pro is most at home on steep overhangs requiring heel hooks and toe hooks. The rounded toe allows margin for error on dynamic foot movements that would be exceptionally useful in volume-based competitions or indoor climbing.

  1. Michael (verified owner)

Long time 5.10 climber and was excited to see what looked like an update to the Hiangle!

The shape and feel on foot is very similar to what I expected – slightly stiffer at the forefoot, a little higher volume, and the upper material feels great on foot. Easy to get on and conformed to my feet quickly; high performance and comfortable enough to leave on between attempts. Toe hooks and heel hooks are super-secure and the RH rubber is no joke.

  2. Tomas

    Best bouldering shoes!

Very similar to old version Five Ten Hiangle (made in US), but with better heel and more sticky rubber. Midsole is stiffer with excellent support on small footholds and edges. Heel is amazing, quite similar to the old blue Teams. After break-in fits like Hiangles and they are very comfortable for agressive, performance shoes. Build quality is perfect, shoes have a simple, but beautiful and functional design. I wear a size 10,5 US/44 EU street shoes, 10 US/43 EU Hiangle and 10 US/43 EU TN Pro – the size is the same. I loved old version Hiangle, for me best all-round shoes. Unparallel TN Pro are even better and overall best shoes I’ve ever owned.

As someone who has also been a fan of the softer, more sensitive 5.10 shoes I was hesitant about getting these. They are noticeably thicker in the toe rubber area, but I have found that they still have a great amount of sensitivity for how thick it is. Great fit right out of the box, which as someone who wears heavily downsized shoes is always shocking to me because I no longer need to break them in for weeks. It has a similar toebox to the Hiangle, perhaps a bit wider. I wear my street shoe size in the Hiangles, and went with my street shoe with these. That sizing has worked out for me so far.

I have never had the Hiangles, but these shoes are excellent. Jumping ship from 5.10 to UP, I can say these are just amazing all around shoes. Overhangs, technical edging, and some of the greatest heel hooks I’ve ever dared try. These shoes are flawless.

  5. Fojo (verified owner)

One of my favorite climbing shoes of all time. I had shamas, otakis. 5.10 dragons and these, once broken in, stick but also feels durable.

  6. Jacob (verified owner)

Good all around shoe. The toe box is a bit wider than other aggressive shoes I’ve had. The heel is shallow and fits pretty snug, something I often struggle to find a good fit for. The stiffer sole and sticky rubber have made these my go to gym bouldering shoe and pretty ideal on sandstone like the Holy Boulders for outdoor climbing.

The cons. I found it a bit baggy through the midfoot and had to really tighten down the strap which has started to fray after only 8 months. The sole is delaminating at the toe rather than wearing through and the rand is coming unglued in some areas as well.

So while this offers great performance out of the box, the single strap offers little adjustment to fit. I expected a bit more durability as well. If I were to resole these other parts would fail before I wore through the resole.

Just got these and have climbed in them only once. Initially, I’m excited by the construction and rubber. High quality all around. Quick thoughts about fit: I love the fit and performance of the blue and Grey hiangles in size 13 so I got these in 13 as well. These fit similarly with the very round, approachable toe box. I think the heel on these UP’s is better, better lockdown. My only complaint is that the upper is pretty baggy. I see another review with the same complaint. Maybe offer this shoe in a lv option in larger sizes? People with big feet need options too. Overall, great job UP, and thanks for this awesome shoe.

  8. Ricci

Amazing shoe, super sticky rubber that pins you onto holds. Great for indoor and outdoor bouldering. My only con which is related to the shoe’s cosmetics. The blue dye excessively leaks onto your feet after it gets damp. I have been using these shoes for 2 months now and have accepted that fact that from the ankle down I am a Smurf, as the dye is quite difficult to get off.

Other than that, it’s a great shoe that upholds its reviews and performance credits.

Until recently, I hadn’t bought a pair of climbing shoes since 2015. Five Ten stopped making the models that I used for years, and I was forced to branch out and try La Sportiva, Scarpa, and Evolv. Sure they’re good shoes, but they don’t fit me properly. Finally, I tried Unparallelsports and I wish I hadn’t wasted my time or money on other brands. I bought the Flagship, TN Pro, and Sirius. I wear a 8.5 street shoe, and I purchased a size 8 in all 3 models. I wouldn’t be able to get a smaller size on my foot, but they are also comfortable enough that I can break them in without my toes going numb. The rubber is great. The shipping was fast, I am so glad I found my new brand.

  10. Sam Trimboli

    Great all day performance shoe.
I ordered one half size down from street shoe and it was very difficult to get on at first. It still isn’t easy but once its on it doesn’t hurt to leave it on and feels great. The unlined upper softens up and stretches out considerably. Great shoe. Super sticky.

I bought a 13.5 since I have the Vim and Newtro Lace in those and they fit perfect. But this was too loose. The heel was ready to slip off with the strap as tight as I could get it, and the toe box wasn’t locking my toes in. I needed to go at least another half size down from that for a good fit.
My stats: 27.5cm Foot length | 10.3cm Forefoot width | 7.8cm Heel width

  12. Arash Banisafar (verified owner)

I was a huge fan of the blue Hiangles and was bummed that Adidas went down in quality control. The TNPro was the perfect replacement– it did everything that the blue Hiangles did, but much better. Like I’m talking a better heel, better closure system, stickier rubber, and a perfect toe box. Unfortunately, my pull tabs ripped on both shoes after two to three months of moderate use. It stinks because the edges are still good, but due to the heel’s slingshot design, I can’t get them on anymore without a shoehorn.

I’ve owned 2 pairs of the shoe, and it got to say the toe on this shoes is very nice when I’m extended on smaller feet. Only really 2 issues I’ve had, the heel cup never has fit me, always bags out as soon as they’re broken in (I know this is personal and know many people who love the heel so not taking a star for this), and the tabs don’t hold up to long. Other wise, it’s a great shoe!
